A special congratulations to our very own Zero Waste Director, Julia Wetstein, who has been elected to the Biodegradable Product Institute 2021 Board of Directors.

BPI is a science-driven organization and advocates for a shift towards a circular economy. Their objective is accomplished through material certifications, increasing understanding through education, and by expanding access to systems that accept certified biodegradable products.

Our US-based composting guru Julia Wetstein has 23 years of experience in composting, agriculture and implementing zero waste programs.

In her time as Assistant Dean of Agriculture at Southern Illinois University, she supervised a 2,000-acre experimental farm facility. Her own family farm has a 120-year history. She is a member of the US Composting Council Biodegradable Products Task Force, the Illinois Food Scrap Coalition, the Organic Recycling Association of Ohio, and the California Association of Compost Producers.

We are thrilled to have Julia represent Vegware and utilize her expertise to help achieve the goals of this wonderful organization. Well done!
