We’re hosting a session at VORS 2022!
We are delighted to be sponsoring the Vermont Organics Recycling Summit 2022! We’re also hosting a session and doing what Product & Zero Waste Specialists do – having the conversation. The summit takes place during International Compost Awareness Week in May 2022. Our session will be about the perceptions and opportunities of compostable packaging.
The summit will host a range of online discussion groups such as webinars and facilitated discussion groups. The theme for this year is Recipe for Regeneration: Compost.

Supporting the soil
Waste diverters, soil enthusiasts, and green-minded citizens all share a desire for waste reduction, clean sorting streams and healthy soil. The sorting process can be confusing. The myriad of materials that we are expected to sort correctly can foster that emotion. The process can be unclear, frustrating, and challenging to execute.
The compostable packaging market is expected to increase 17% annually between 2020-2027. In this co-hosted session, we raise the question, “What role could compostable serveware play in achieving the goals of stakeholders devoted to a clean sorting stream, reducing and diverting waste and building healthy soil?”
Experts from every facet of the compostable packaging subset will be in attendance to unpack the answer to this question. We will explore the preconceptions and misconceptions of compostable packaging and cultivate a discussion towards collaborative solutions.
The 2022 Vermont Organics Recycling Summit will include a variety of virtual events celebrating the value of compost and organics recycling. This includes the many ways it supports regenerative agriculture, the health of the environment, the people and the economy.
